How much does a trivia or quiz night cost in South Africa?

Our hosted events start from R2,500. Final pricing depends on audience size, venue location (travel and accommodation), how custom the content is, and whether you need full AV or we work with what the venue has. Request a quote and we'll come back with a tailored proposal within 24–48 hours.

How far in advance should we book?

For peak season (October–December) we recommend 6–8 weeks' notice. Off-peak we can often accommodate shorter lead times — get in touch and we'll do our best.

How do we secure our date?

A signed booking form plus a 50% booking fee deposit secures the date. Full details, including our booking terms and cancellation terms, are shared with your quote.

Do you require a booking fee deposit?

Yes, a 50% booking fee deposit is required to hold your date. The balance is payable 30 days before the event starts. Payment terms are outlined in your quote.

What payment methods do you accept?

EFT bank transfer for South African clients. An invoice with our banking details is issued with your booking confirmation.

What types of events do you host?

Corporate year-end functions, team-building, conferences, gala dinners, luxury weddings, private parties, fundraisers, resort entertainment and weekly pub quiz nights across South Africa.

How many guests can you accommodate?

From intimate groups of 20 up to large-scale functions of 250 guests. Our format, AV setup and round structure scale to suit your room.

How long does a typical event run?

A standard hosted trivia or music bingo evening runs 90 minutes to 2 hours including breaks. We tailor the run-sheet to your event — shorter for conference programme inserts, longer for full evening entertainment.

Can you brand the event around our company?

Yes. We build custom rounds around your brand, industry, products, milestones or people. Your logos, colours and visuals appear on screen throughout the event.

What kinds of prizes work best?

A mix of a strong headline prize plus smaller round-winner prizes keeps energy high all night. We can advise on prize structure or, on request, source prizes for you.

Do you supply the sound system and projector?

Accepted Answer

We always bring the host laptop, a wireless handheld microphone, and our paperless platform — guests' phones become their buzzers and answer pads, so there are no pens or answer sheets. Most venues already have a PA and a projector or TV screen with HDMI, which is all we need. If your venue doesn't, we can quote PA, projector and screen hire as an optional add-on.

What does the venue need to supply?

Ideally: a projector or large TV with HDMI input, a working PA / speakers, seating for your guests, and reliable power. Wi-Fi is a nice-to-have but not required — we run on our own mobile-data backup.

How much setup time do you need?

We arrive 60–90 minutes before start time for setup and a sound / screen check. For larger productions with lighting and staging, we agree a longer bump-in with the venue in advance.

What if the venue Wi-Fi or power fails on the night?

Accepted Answer

Our digital format is built for resilience: we run on a managed mobile-data backup and bring our own UPS-protected hardware, and our host keeps the room entertained while service is restored. A stable connection is required to play — venue Wi-Fi reliability remains the venue's responsibility.

Is the format really paperless?

Yes. Guests play on their own phones using the free QuizXpress player app and the Game PIN shown on screen — no pens, no answer sheets, no manual marking. Scoring and the leaderboard are live on the main screen. We don't run pen-and-paper quiz nights.

Where are you based?

We're based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) in the Eastern Cape.

Do you travel nationwide?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, East London, the Garden Route, Knysna and beyond. Travel and accommodation are included in your quote where applicable.

Do you charge extra for travel?

For events outside our Eastern Cape home base, travel and accommodation are quoted transparently as line items in your proposal — no hidden fees on the night.

Are you insured? Can you provide a PLI certificate?

We do not currently carry Public Liability Insurance. If your venue requires vendor compliance documentation, please let us know during quoting so we can discuss arrangements.

Are you POPIA compliant?

Yes. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act. See our Privacy Policy for full detail on how enquiry and event data is handled.

Do you provide invoices with a VAT number?

You'll receive a proper tax invoice for every booking. If VAT is applicable to your invoice it is shown as a separate line item.

Can you sign a vendor agreement / NDA?

Yes. We're happy to sign standard vendor onboarding paperwork and NDAs for corporate and hotel clients.
